About the City
Located 60 km north of Udaipur in Palli district of the state Rajasthan, Ranakpur is one of the most important pilgrimage sites of Jainism. It is a home to an exceptionally beautiful temple complex in the Aravali ranges built in 15th century which attracts tourists from all over India.
    
A Date With the Past
The city is named after Rana Kumbh who gave land for the construction of temples. Ranakpur is renowned for its marvelous carved temples in amber stone. These temples were constructed in 1439 A.D.
    
Must See in Ranakpur
    Ranakpur Jain Temples : These temples are the most renowned 
    Jain temples built in 15th century and is 90 kms away from Udaipur. Covering 
    an area of 40,000 sq feet with several halls & pillars which are individually 
    carved, the temples of Ranakpur are worth visiting. The Chaumukha temple is 
    dedicated to the Tirthankar Rishabhji and two other temples infront of the 
    main temple are dedicated to the Jain saints Parsvanath & Neminath. The Sun 
    temple built in 8th century is also an important place to visit. 
    
    Kumbhal Wildlife Sanctuary : This sanctuary houses a large variety 
    of wildlife which includes, Panther, Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Four-horned antelpoe, 
    deer and some rare bird species.
    
    
Other Attractions
    Desuri : Desuri is situated in the Kumbhalgarh tehsil of 
    Rajasthan 16 km from Ranakpur. Several temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord 
    Hanuman and Navi Mata, can be seen in this temple complex. A temple dedicated 
    to Parsurama Mahadeo is also nestled in the hills. 
    
    
Sadar : Located 8 km from Ranakpur is famous for its beautiful 
    ancient temples like the Varahavtar Temple and the Chintamani Parsvanath Jain 
    Temple. Also one can visit a famous Dargah of Khudabaksh Baba. 
    
    
Narlai : It is situated 6 km from Ranakpur and has many Hindu 
    and Jain temples. The Adinath Temple is an ancient one which has beautiful 
    mural paintings.
