About the City
Mandawa is situated in the Shekhawati region, north Indian state of Rajasthan about 190 kms from Jaipur. This small beautiful town is known for its forts & havelis which signifies the rich cultural heritage of this area. This is a perfect tourist destination for those who want to visit the rural India.
    
A Date with the Past
Mandawa was built in 18th century by some rich merchant families of this region. The numerous havelis built by the merchants of the then time in this area have now become major places of tourist's attraction for the tourists in Rajasthan.
    
Must See in Mandawa
    Castle Mandwa : The castle was built in 1755 which has two 
    gateways. There are several rooms with many narrow staircases, courtyards 
    and a terrace which offers an excellent view of the town. This castle is now 
    converted into a charming heritage hotel. So this is not only a place to visit 
    but also to stay. 
    
    
Havelies : There are several havelies like the Chokhani, 
    Ladia, Saraf havelis, Binsidhar Newatia Haveli etc. which houses some beautiful 
    ancient paintings.
    
    
Other Attractions
    Nawalgarh : Nawalgarh is situated arround 37 km south of 
    Mandawa and is famous for its forts, built in 1737. There are also several 
    havelis like Anandi Lal Poddar, Aath Haveli, Hem Raj Kulwal Haveli and the 
    Khedwal Bhawan which attracts tourists on a large scale. 
    
    
Mukundgarh : This is a tiny village situated arround 25 km 
    southeast of Mandawa, famous for its forts and havelis. 
    
    
Parsurampur : Located 43 km south east of Mandawa and houses 
    some oldest paintings in the Shekhawati region. Castle Mandawa
    
    
Dundlod : This is situated around 30 km southeast of Mandawa 
    and is famous for its forts and havelies. Jagathia Haveli, Satyanarayan Temple, 
    the Dundlod forts and palace are some of the major attractions in this place.
