The Palace is situated in Amber, 11km from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The Palace lies inside the massive Amber fort complex with several gateways, gardens, halls, small palaces, pavillions & temples. The construction of the palace was started by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and later it was completed by Raja Jai Singh and Sawai Jai Singh. This palace is a synthesis of Hindu & Mughal architecture built in red sandstone and white marble. This is a must visit travel destination in Rajasthan which attracts tourists from all over India.
    
Architecture
The Palace is a blend of Hindu & Mughal architecture built in red sandstone and white Marble. There are several palaces like the Sheesh Mahal, Zenana Mahal, temples like the Kali Temple and gardens inside it.
    
Attraction within the palace are
    Sheesh Mahal : The Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Mirrors known 
    for its mirror works is the most spectacular monument inside the palace complex. 
    Numerous mirror pieces on the walls sparkle in light and illuminates the entire 
    room. 
    
Kali Temple : There is a temple built by Maharaja Man Singh which is devoted to Goddess Kali & has huge doors made of silver.
    
Zenana : The Zenana was the apartments for royal women which 
    has beautiful frescoes and spectacular courtyard. Also there are private chambers 
    for the royal women from where they could watch the proceedings of the royal 
    court. 
    
    
Kesar Kyari : This beautiful garden is situated in the center 
    of Maotha lake & the Dilaram Bagh which provide a spectacular view of the 
    palaces. 
    
    
Other Attractions
    Hawa MahalHawa Mahal : Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds 
    is a five storied building with a number of tiny windows, arched roofs & balconies. 
    This was built for royal ladies to watch the procession and various activities 
    in the streets. 
    
    
City Palace : This beautiful palace complex has several buildings, 
    gardens, courtyards inside it and is a fine synthesis of Rajasthani and Mughal 
    architecture. 
    
    
How to Get There
    Air : Jaipur Airport, Sanganer is at a distance of 11 km 
    from the city centre which is connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Udaipur, Jodhpur 
    and some other major destinations by regular flights. 
    
    
Rail : Indian railway connects Jaipur with all the major 
    parts of the country 
    
    
Road : Jaipur is well connected to various parts of India
